Social Media & Graphic Design Internship

BACKGROUND

Company: Always Justified: Same Day Riverside & Joyous Moments

Project Overview:
Managed various social media accounts and tasked with creating graphic design projects across the multiple business ventures housed under Always Justified.

Market Research

In the initial phases, we delved into the Same Day Riverside project with a strategic marketing plan. Our exploration phase included a comprehensive exploration of potential ideas, utilizing a competitive analysis, understanding target audiences, drawing inspiration, and brainstorming potential promotional campaigns. The primary focus was on engaging a younger demographic, specifically college-aged students actively participating in clubs and Greek life. Aligning with the overarching objectives of Always Justified, our aim was to boost sales within educational institutions, foster collaborations with local businesses, and carve out a distinct identity amidst competitors in the same locale.

STYLESCAPE

We aimed to follow the aesthetic outlined in the marketing plan, targeting a younger audience with a strong and contemporary design. Embracing a bold typeface and compelling photography, our goal was to create a visually striking experience. Initially, we opted for a vibrant red to align with Always Justified's branding. However, we made a switch to blue to align with Same Day Riverside's color palette, ensuring a more cohesive and polished look.

Instagram Carousel Posts

Our objective was to craft an engaging visual experience for Instagram followers accessing posts on their mobile devices, leveraging the dynamic carousel format. The initial image seamlessly integrates into the thumbnail grid, enticing users to explore further by clicking on the thumbnail. Upon interaction, the image expands, offering a more immersive and aesthetically pleasing view.

The second carousel image takes on the role of the "hero" shot, with graphical embellishments removed, except for the company website and logo. This deliberate choice ensures that the focus remains on the clothing design, without any design elements competing for attention against the model. Placing this image second is intentional, aligning with Instagram's tendency to showcase the second image within a carousel when users scroll past the initial one.

The final slide, adaptable for use as a Story advertisement, presents the unaltered product photo. Devoid of stylistic color correction, this slide showcases the product, offering viewers a more accurate representation of the merchandise.

Informational Posts

To help enhance engagement, the team planned for an additional objective: crafting easily digestible informational posts. Our aim was to enlighten potential customers and followers on the details of the prepress process and proper image formatting. Additionally, this helped to alleviate the challenges associated with customers submitting low-resolution assets.

Through our content, we sought to educate clients on the significance of submitting high-quality materials, addressing production pain points and fostering a smoother collaborative journey.

Results

Within the first month we gained 28 new Instagram followers, higher than other businesses within the same category. Our reach on Instagram also increased by 122.8% and profile bisits by 165.4%. We noticed our Facebook Page reach actually decreased and received no new likes. We concluded that this may have been due to our target audience skewing younger and less likely to be on Facebook as the same content was reposted on both social media accounts. The posts that gained the most traction centered around special events such as Mother’s Day and graduations.
